How Can I Get Rid Of My Acne Scars?

Even after outgrowing adolescent acne, acne scars remain. When you have acne scars, it can seem like you have never really recovered from your breakout.

The Experienced Team At The Med Spa Of North Texas Have Developed Effective Treatment Options To Reduce The Appearance Of Acne Scars.

What Kind Of Treatments Are Available?

Acne scars can be removed in two ways with Bellafill. In the first step, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) is suspended in collagen gel. Over time, the gel will break down, causing your own collagen to form a foundation that will fill in acne scars. As a bonus, it smooths out wrinkles as well! With Bellafill, your skin is restored rather than refilled. Clinical trials have shown that 90% of patients are satisfied with results 12 months after treatment.

Bellafill® can be used alone or in combination with other treatments for acne scarring. Depending on the severity of your scarring, the experienced team at The Med Spa Of North Texas may suggest VirtueRF Microneedling w/ Radio Frequency 3 months following your Bellafill Treatments. Virtue RF Microneedling treatments can be used to touch up deep, resistant scarring that previously was difficult to treat.

Bellafill is one of the best treatments for acne scarring. Acne scarring often causes a loss of volume, which is easily replaced by injecting a Dermal Filler, Bellafill. The purpose of the injections is to lift the scarred area that has been depressed. Laser resurfacing and chemical peels are also effective as a single treatment or as an add-on treatment for acne scarring.

Prior to your Bellafill® treatment, The Med Spa Of North Texas recommends a skin allergy test, as some patients may have a reaction to the lidocaine or bovine collagen in the product. The skin test will be administered at the time of the initial consultation. After treatment, it is common for Patient’s to have temporary swelling, redness, pain, bruising, lumps/bumps, itching, and discoloration at the treatment site. These side effects typically resolve within 3 to 7 days.
